Green Walls in San Diego

When people think of San Diego, they think of the ocean. They think of the world class Zoo, craft beer and our beautiful parks. There is another aspect of San Diego that is slowing finding its way into the minds of San Diegans and tourist a like. It is green walls. That’s right, green walls. Green walls in San Diego county are popping up everywhere. From banks, to restaurants to hospitals and more. These pieces of artwork range in style, application and technique but all have one thing in common. They use nature as an inspiration.

Some green walls use moss/plant combination like that at Rita’s Place on the UCSD Campus. This example combines more than one technique to bring a lush beautiful piece of art work to a building. Others like our moss wall at Mesa Nueva on UCSD Campus use just deep colors of moss to bring the soaring birds to life. As you can see, green walls can use a wide range of materials, techniques and applications but one thing they have in common is that they bring the beauty of nature up close and personal.
